Rockets Sign Dalembert

In Free Agency on December 22, 2011 at 7:03 am

Marc Stein reports

Sources told ESPN.com that Dalembert has agreed to a two-year deal worth $13.7 million — $7 million this season and $6.7 million in 2012-13.

But the Rockets have a team option for the second season that would allow them to buy out of the contract for a fee of $1.5 million.

Bargain for the Rockets and a team option on that second year. Beautiful contract.

Sammy Dalembert is a quality starting center who will provide the Rockets with above average interior defense and rebounding and is a competent finisher around the basket offensively. His length and interior defense will be a welcome sight in Houston and could push the Rockets into a playoff position.
