Warriors Trade Amundson for B.Rush

Marcus Thompson reports

UPDATE II: The Warriors are in the process of trading Lou Amundson, according to a team source. A second source confirmed it is for Indiana Pacers swingman Brandon Rush. Amundson was held out of Saturday’s game vs. Sacramento. It is not official and likely won’t be before Sunday. I’m told its a straight-up trade.

Excellent trade for the Warriors and a poor trade for the Pacers.

Brandon Rush is a solid two guard. He is a capable starter or a well above average backup. Lou Amundson is a high level third string PF who is a serviceable albeit low level backup PF.

There is a huge drop off in talent there for Indiana. Coupled with the loss of Mike Dunleavy to the Milwaukee Bucks, the Indiana Pacers’ bench is now very vulnerable on the wing.

Bargain acquisition for Golden State.
