KTKR-AM reports

Ticket 760 has learned that the San Antonio Spurs have reached a contract agreement with Tiago Splitter. He is expected to sign the deal on Monday. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Matt Bonner has also agreed to a 4-yr extension with San Antonio. He is also expected to sign his deal on Monday. Terms of Bonner’s deal have not been disclose, but the Concord Union Leader reports that it should pay him annually more than the $3.2 million he earned least season.

Hard to believe San Antonio would give Bonner a pay increase or a four year contract. I’ll wait for confirmation elsewhere on that one.

Excellent signing for San Antonio, Tiago Splitter. It’ll be great to see him in a Spurs uniform finally and great to see Tim Duncan have some real help in the paint again. Someone with size, length, defensive ability and rebounding skills. Splitter will be a valuable addition to San Antonio.

The terms of Splitter’s deal are still unknown but it is likely at least $4 million per annum and perhaps worth as much as the full MLE.

Update: Matt Bonner has indeed signed with the Spurs. He will be paid $16 million over four years which is a terrible contract because Bonner is only worth a minimum contract.

Update: Tiago Splitter only received $10.9 million over three years. His agent deserves to be fired for allowing his client to sign such a poor contract. Splitter should have been up around the MLE. A $15-18 million over three years contract.
