The Heat and Timberwolves have agreed on a trade that will send Michael Beasley to Minnesota. Minnesota will absorb Beasley’s salary using their cap space and will send a future first round pick.
Excellent acquisition for Minnesota. I am presuming that pick is heavily protected and not that valuable.
Miami now have enough cap space to sign LeBron James so I guess they did alright for themselves too.

To complete the trade, Minnesota must only part with a 2011 second-round pick to acquire Beasley. The teams have also agreed to a swap of unspecified future first-round picks.
Update: It is Minnesota who have the right to swap picks with the Heat. Not the other way around. Minnesota will not have a better record than Miami for at least 5 years and likely 8-10 years (at a minimum) so I’m not too sure what the point in this was. I guess it depends on the year. Anyways …
