Redd Difficulties With Knee

In General NBA on November 2, 2009 at 5:15 pm

ESPN reports that Michael Redd is having trouble with the knee he had surgery on last season

Michael Redd of the Milwaukee Bucks will miss at least two weeks after experiencing soreness in his surgically repaired left knee.

Redd underwent surgery in March to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament, and he left Saturday night’s game against Detroit during the third quarter because of discomfort in the knee. He underwent an MRI on the knee on Sunday.

Let’s hope this is only a two week rest-bite and not something that ends up ruining his season.

No Michael Redd, no Bucks’ run for a playoff spot.

Update: Good news on the injury setback

Michael Redd said he was relieved to discover the results of a magnetic resonance imaging exam taken Sunday.

The test revealed Redd suffered a strained left patella tendon in Saturday night’s game against Detroit. But the injury has nothing to do with the torn ligaments he suffered in the same knee last season.

Redd is expected to miss at least two weeks and be re-evaluated at that time.

Okay, I don’t know what that means (useless when it comes to injuries) … but Redd seems happy with the news.

Andrew Bogut

While we’re having a quick note on the Bucks … Andrew Bogut is playing very poor basketball to start the season. He doesn’t look as physically able as he was prior to his back injury. This is something to watch closely over the next month or two.

Andrew Bogut was the Bucks best player last season and a major reason for the Bucks impressive performance defensively + on the glass prior to his injury.

If Bogut isn’t able to recover his best form, then the Bucks aren’t a threat to make the playoffs.

Brandon Jennings

Two worrying pieces of Bucks’ news there but there is a positive and that’s Brandon Jennings who’s off to a brilliant start to the season. It’s still too early to say whether or not he can keep it up for the whole season but it’s a good flash of his talent and long term potential.

Jennings looks like a very good draft pick for the Bucks.

  1. Its good to listen about Micheal Redd got a minor problem during the Saturday’s game. his fans were fearing that it might be his troubling Knee ligament injury that is again troubling him. But I am happy to hear that he got minor injury. But it is still sad thing for his fans that he would be away from game for next 2-3 weeks.
