NY Post reports
Free-agent big man Jared Jeffries, whose second stint with the Knicks was a bust late last season, has verbally committed to re-signing, according to an NBA source.
Contracts can’t become official until Friday, but it is believed he has agreed to a one-year deal at the veteran’s minimum, $1.4 million. Jeffries’ agent confirmed the move.
“He will re-sign with them,” Andy Miller said. “He felt comfortable with the team, loves the city and has a great rapport with the coach.”
Jared Jeffries is a good third string power forward. He is an average defensive player who can do a multitude of tasks on that end of floor both in terms of man-to-man defense and team defense. Weak rebounder. Non-scorer. Solid passer and ball-handler.
A nice utility player to have at the end of your bench / roster but not a rotation player.
