RealGM has the press release

The Utah Jazz announced today that the team has re-signed guard Ronnie Price. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.

“Keeping Ronnie on our roster was important to us,” said Utah Jazz general manager Kevin O’Connor. “He is someone who knows our system and has proven capable of stepping in whenever called upon. Over the last two seasons he has shown a commitment to working hard and improving his game, and as a result, we expect his growth to continue.”

Excellent signing by the Utah Jazz. Price was one of the best low priced point guards on the free agent market, and he’s been a good player for Utah for the past two seasons.

Ronnie Price is a good backup guard. It’ll be interesting to see if he can hold off the rookie Eric Maynor for the backup minutes behind Deron Williams next season, or not.

  1. Dave,

This decision by Utah raises an interesting question in my mind, re: Brevin Knight.

Instead of spending $5.0 M/yr on a player like Jarret Jack, considering the sum of money they already have tied up in Bosh, Turkoglu, Bargnani and Calderon … why would a team like the Raptors NOT be interested in signing a player like B-Knight to an affordable/felxible contract [perhaps at the veteran's minimum]?

  2. Khandor,

I thought they should have gone after Anthony Carter. He would would have been my second choice, after Flip Murray. Good defender, slightly above average rebounder, and serviceable offensive player. A dependable veteran who’ll keep things going.

Terrible decision to pay Jarrett Jack that type of money. Colangelo is going to regret that decision.

  3. Remember that phenomenal Ronnie Price dunk from a few years ago..

  4. That was an incredible dunk.

    Ronnie Price = Spark Plug
