Tayshaun Prince Last Three Elimination Series

In 2009 Playoffs, General NBA on May 9, 2009 at 10:16 am

This is an update to a previous post

So where do we stand now?

  • 2008/09 — First Round against Cleveland — Tayshaun Prince averaged 3.3 points per game in 32.7 minutes a night against the Cavs, in a series were the Pistons were swept aside easily. Those 3.3 points came on almost 8 shots a game as Tayshaun shot a mere 25.9% from the field. Prince did not attempt a free throw in the series, and only averaged 3.5 rebounds a game, and had as many turnovers as assists.
  • 2007/08 — Conference Finals against Boston — Tayshaun Prince averaged only 9.8 points per game despite playing 40 minutes a night. He shot only 32.4% on 12 attempts from the field a game. Prince was weak on the backboards too, getting only four boards while his team was getting smacked around in the paint.
  • 2006/07 — Conference Finals  against Cleveland — Tayshaun Prince averages only 8.7 points per game in 44 minutes a night. He shoots only 24.2% from the field on 11 attempts a game. Prince does decent work on the boards, and good work distributing the ball.

That is three straight years where Tayshaun Prince has had an atrocious series in an elimination round for the Pistons.

  1. I like what you did there. The latest Prince poop was the last straw.

  2. Thanks toasterhands, and Welcome to the Site.
