Congradulations Doc

  1. Yep, what a butt kickin it was. As a Lakers fan, I’ll have nightmares tonight.

  2. Hey Erik,

I’m sure it stings now but it was a great season for the Lakers and your team looks on the verge of something very special over the next 5 years once you get Bynum back healthy.

Watching you guys take out Denver, Utah and the defending champ San Antonio was a great sight. Your team played some beautiful ball along the way that was a pleasure to see …. just ran short against the Celtics.

  3. Just really funny that the same Celtics “fans” that were hammering Doc just a year or two ago are now singing his praises. (Not saying that’s what you are doing, by any means, but just in general.) Just goes to show why the “Fan” mentality is fickle and not at all trustworthy when looking for objective information in sports.

  4. Doc has done a very good job this season.

In fairness to the fans in this case it’s very hard to evaluate a coach through the miserable play of young players on lottery bound teams. It’ll be interesting to see how long this new widespread Doc support lasts and how much stick he gets when something happens that several fans don’t like.

As for myself my stance was on Doc prior to this year – I had no idea what he was made of. I thought he was unfairly sacked in Orlando. I thought he ended up with odd rosters that were generally being taken apart with each additional season he spent in both Orlando and Boston. Doc was 8 years into his career and he hadn’t proven much. Then again he’d shown some nice stuff in Orlando (particularly his rookie year) and clearly the team played hard for him. There was some promise and some warning signals. I was prepared to give him this season and declare my judgement then. So I look a little smarter than many for being undecisive and hedging disgracefully from the issue.
